Steph Curry dropped 40, 25, and 53 points in three successive games to open the season and no, it’s not about the poor New Orleans Pelicans defense (whom they already faced twice).
It’s just that, in Draymond Green‘s words, they simply “raised their level of play”. And none epitomizes that ‘extra level of play’ better than their very own leader Curry. The NBA MVP played the least amount of minutes in this epic four-game start because, well, he didn’t have to stay in the court for very long.
Last night against the Memphis Grizzlies, for instance, Curry saw the court in a little over 28 minutes, only because a 21-point third quarter barrage was enough to hold off their opponents.
Here is a highlight of Curry’s huge third quarter:
In the end, the Dubs blew out the Grizzlies by 50, 119-69, and by then everybody realized the NBA is indeed Steph Curry’s world. We’re all just living in it.
