Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid was fined by the National Basketball Association (NBA) on Saturday for directing inappropriate speech toward LaVar Ball in an Instagram video. He’s been fined $10,000 by the league announced on Saturday.
Embiid responded to the fine on Twitter:
That day has finally come ha #TheProcess

LaVar Ball quickly fired back at Embiid’s remark, telling TMZ, “He’s got three words. His vocabulary is limited. You gotta use cuss words when you don’t have no intellect. He’s not intelligent at all. He shouldn’t worry about me, he should be worried about playing.”
Embiid and Ball have traded insults since the NBA draft, as Embiid tweeted the following to 76ers teammate Ben Simmons after Lonzo Ball was taken by the Los Angeles Lakers with the No. 2 overall pick:
Please dunk on him so hard that his daddy runs on the court to save him.. https://t.co/cMvt5RYiSQ

The elder Ball went on to criticize Embiid and his inability to stay healthy in a Philadelphia sports radio interview, per Jonathan Tannenwald of Philly.com.
While Embiid is an elite talent, durability has proven elusive during his NBA career.
The former Kansas standout missed his first two seasons due to injury before appearing in just 31 games last season.
Embiid averaged 20.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.5 blocks and 2.1 assists per contest, and he is a key building block for the up-and-coming 76ers.
Meanwhile, the Lakers are hitching their rebuild wagon to Ball along with the likes of Brandon Ingram and Julius Randle.
