Blake Griffin Sees LeBron Signing With NY And Not LA

LeBron James bolting out of Cleveland next year is reportedly pretty much a done deal so where would the King take his talents next? Again, multiple rumors float he may sign with either of the two teams in Los Angeles.

However, one LA superstar does not believe LeBron will be wearing a Laker or Clipper jersey anytime soon. If anything, James might be more willing to wear the orange and blue of New York.

“I could see him going to New York before L.A.,” Clippers forward Blake Griffin said on the “View From The Cheap Seats” podcast, per Complex. “I still think, when you go to the Garden, it’s a completely different feeling. The energy, there seems like there’s just a consistent buzz the entire game…even last year when you go play them, it’s still there.”

Before Knicks fans request off from work to attend the 2018-19 championship parade, Griffin went on to say he has “no idea” what LeBron will decide to do and that this is simply his own speculation. But it is interesting Griffin would list the Knicks ahead of the Lakers and Clippers on LeBron’s wish list.

“Honestly, I don’t see him coming to L.A. period,” Griffin said on the podcast. “Listen, again, I have no idea [laughs]. I think something is brewing with him and his group of guys. I don’t know what’s going to happen, but I think something’s brewing and they’re going to try to make that work.”

According to the NY Daily News, it will be a tall task to sign James to a lucrative contract.

They (the Knicks) would still have difficulty signing LeBron to a lucrative contract due to the fact they have more than $107 million over the next three years tied to just Tim Hardaway Jr. and Joakim Noah alone.

OK, let the Knicks fans dream on Blake.
